Cheryll and Johnny
I was so excited for Cheryll and Johnny’s big day, and remember thinking how fast time went by from the day I learned of their engagement. Their gorgeous wedding at the Renaissance Hotel in Schaumburg, IL was carefully planned with the help of the talented team of planners at Oliveaire (you’ll see their photo a bit later on in the blog). My eyes widened at every little detail I saw throughout the day, from Cheryll’s beautiful dress and accessories, to each of the beautiful floral arrangements at the reception. More than anything, Cheryll and Johnny’s wedding day was filled with incredible people, lots of love, and lots of fun.
St Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville, where the happy couple got married, was absolutely stunning. Their priest who was visiting from his regular church in Roselle, performed a wonderful ceremony that was filled with laughter and sweet stories about Cheryll and Johnny. Johnny about had me in tears at the beginning of the ceremony when he was a bit overcome with emotion as Cheryll entered the sanctuary. What a beautiful memory!
Our photography plans were changed quite a bit because of heavy rain. Cheryll and Johnny opted to take portraits at the Renaissance, which ended up being more than wonderful, despite having somewhat of a limited amount of time. I especially loved thinking that I was being all rogue in taking a photo of Cheryll and Johnny together next to an incredible Lamborghini, only to learn that it belonged to Cheryll’s father! What fun!
I could not have captured portraits of these two if not for the help of my assistant Jana. Jana, thank you for dealing with my crazy artist mind, and the immense amount of pressure I place upon myself and upon you to capture things as perfectly as possible.
More than 300 guests from all over the world shared the beautiful day with the newlyweds. The insanely talented team of cinematographers from Real Star Media put together a same day edit video montage of the day, and showcased it for everyone to see during dinner. I think I may have given them a standing ovation, that’s how excited I was about the work they had done. Simply amazing, especially considering this is a same day creation! (you can view it at the end of the blog)
Rather than continue trying to write about all that happened, all that was captured, and everything else about the day, I think I’m going to bow out and allow the photos to take over from here.
Cheryll and Johnny, THANK YOU! Thank you for entrusting me with the enormous responsibility of capturing your beautiful wedding day for you. Thank you for being wonderful, kind hearted, caring, and fun people! I cannot wait to share many more adventures and photo memories with you and your families for years to come!
